Tenga Eggs fascinate me. I have a love for tiny things in neat little packages. I have to admit that I was more intrigued by the Tenga eggs than my partner (refer to footnote if confused). I expected this oversized plastic egg, but it really is a normal size egg. Wrapped in a sleeve of plastic with Japanese instructions, these eggs are cute.

Through a little research I found that in Japan they are referred to as onacups. These onacups come in different variations of internal textures. The one we played with was called the Stepper.
I ripped off the plastic sleeve and felt like I was opening one of those plastic Easter eggs with candy hidden inside. Instead it was a wobbly white TPE blob. Perhaps blob seemed derogatory. I actually spent a lot of time poking it and making it jiggly. My wife seemed a bit turned off by this. Inside the little blob is a lube packet. I stuck my finger inside to feel the soft little ridges. This illustration from Babeland shows a great drawing of the textures inside Tengas.
I believe the Stepper is the bottom row, first one on the left. I tore the lube packet, filled up the egg and we dove into the world of masturbation sleeves. The Tenga egg is super stretchy, and fun to use with a partner. It makes a simple handjob much more interesting. My wife found the ridges to be a great sensation, rating the feeling at a 4-4.5 on a scale of 5. She definitely enjoyed the egg. I have to admit that the visual is slightly disturbing. I watched the head of her penis seem like it was about to burst from some space bubble. I think this is an excellent toy for partner play. I could envision hiding the eggs all over the house on Easter morning and promising favors when they were found.
But there are downsides. Tenga eggs are created as single use masturbation sleeves. While they can be cleaned and reused again, it is not recommended due to chance of breakage. Being the hippies that we are, it’s hard to justify the wasteful aspect of the eggs. You can however use the Tenga eggs by turning them inside out and applying them as a cover to a Hitachi wand.
My wife found the Tenga egg to be messier than she expected. While the egg holds the lube inside, if laying down the lube can run back and become messy. She did not enjoy the lube, and while squirting it inside the egg I found it to be very thick. If I use another Tenga egg I would attempt with my own lube.
While the Stepper was excellent sensation wise, the drawbacks of mess and waste deter us from purchasing these eggs again.
You can find Tenga Eggs at Babeland.com, the excellent sex-positive toy store with exceptional customer service! They cost a measly 8.50 each, not a bad stocking stuffer!! Thank you Babeland for sending me this toy in exchange for an honest review*
*To keep from confusing, my wife is a transgender woman. She does have a penis, and a nice one at that!*
